Preguiça (in Cape Verdean Creole, written in ALUPEC: Pr’gisa or Pr’djisa) is village in the southern part of the island of São Nicolau. It is part of the municipality of Ribeira Brava. It is linked with the road connecting north to Ribeira Brava. Preguiça is the home to the island's airport, the Preguiça Airport.

Preguiça features farmlands within the village and the shoreline, farmlands mainly consists of pastures, fruits and vegetables and other types as well as a small plain to the north, grasslands dominate the area and it contains a very few trees. The mountains covers the eastern and the western portions, a peninsula lies southwest of the village. Its climate ranges from slightly drier than Ribeira Brava and the western part and wetter than the eastern half.The Atlantic Ocean lies to the south.

Most of the houses are built with mud-brick and stone, the rest are concrete or sand with stone and some houses are built with brick and steel reinforced concrete. The area is in the island's low class. A part of the needy materials comes from the island capital, the island capital and the diaspora. But for other needs, electricity, communications, appliances and street lights are partially available in the area as well as phone lines since the late-20th century. A part of the necessities also comes from the island capital.
The settlement name also gave its name to a nearby neighbourhood in the north of Espargos as well as another settlement Hortelão in which most of its inhabitants moved to those villages in which later became settlements, after the removal of its residents during World War II, emigration continued as well as residents moving to larger cities which lasted until the 1990s in large numbers. Its nearby airport was inaugurated in the mid to late-20th century offering flights to the island of São Vicente and Praia.
