Precision Manuals Development Group (PMDG) is a commercial add-on aircraft developer for the Microsoft Flight Simulator series.

[edit] History
PMDG started by creating add-ons for Terminal Reality's Fly! flight simulator series, with the release of a Boeing 757 and later a Boeing 777 for Fly! 2k. Especially notable was the authentic recreations of on-board glass cockpit systems such as the EFIS, FMC and other complex avionics.
When the Fly! series ended due to lack of publisher support and the untimely death of lead programmer Richard Harvey, PMDG shifted to producing add-ons for the Microsoft Flight Simulator platform.
In 2003 they released their Boeing 737 "The Next Generation" aircraft, initially including the 600 and 700 models. The 800 and 900 models were released as an add-on in 2004. Both products enjoyed popularity with flight simulator enthusiasts.
In 2005, PMDG released their long-awaited Boeing 747-400 "Queen of the Skies" simulation, which was heavily anticipated by users after the success of the Boeing 737 add-ons. On March 18 2006 PMDG released the PMDG 747-400F addon for Flight Simulator 2004.
They have also released two turboprop aircraft. The Beechcraft 1900C and 1900D. Both of these aircraft feature limited system capabilities and are aimed at new and/or inexperienced simmers.
PMDG's current in-progress add-ons are McDonell Douglas MD-11, Airbus A320 and the Boeing 737 Next Generation for Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
In recent business news around the flight simulator community, PMDG gave their website a facelift and updated some of the prices of their products. The new prices are still listed with the same numerical value but the dollar sign changed to a euro sign ultimately leading to higher prices all across the board. This has caused much concern and disdain among flight simmers on many forums across the globe. The Group has also come under criticism for their release of the 747-400 for FSX with few new features, yet charge full price for the upgrade after only offering a discounted upgrade for a couple of months.
