[edit] Summary
Schematic representation of microtubule arrays typical for mitosis in plant cells:
- 1) Preprophase with preprophase band visible along the plasma membrane circling the nucleus.
- 2) Metaphase with acentrosomal mitotic spindle.
- 3) Telophase with newly formed daughter nuclei, phragmoplast microtubule array and cell plate growing from the center outwards (new cell wall already formed in center).
- 4) Daughter cells after cytokinesis is complete.
