Category talk:Prehistoric sites in England

[edit] Category creation

I've created this category as I didn't think Archaeological sites in England was specific enough. I've moved some articles from "Archaeological sites" -> "Prehistoric sites" already, and will do more as I have time. I've made this a sub-category of "Archaeological sites", so articles are still there, just moved down a level. One exception: I've left Stonehenge in both categories as I figure it's a high-traffic article that people might be expecting to find under "Archaeology". Please respond here or on my talk page if you have objections. –Ryan McDaniel 18:29, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Clarification: Any articles which have both prehistoric and other archaeological significance (e.g., Roman use of a prehistoric hill fort), I'm double-listing. –Ryan McDaniel 06:34, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
Done, as of 24 Feb 06. –Ryan McDaniel 20:34, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Parent query

Should Category:Iron Age Britain (or Bronze age or Stone age) be a parent? Generically (or rather conventionally) "Prehistory" is a parent to "Iron Age" (and Bronze age and Stone age) so this seems rather confusing. See also Talk:Carn Brea-- Ashley VH 12:40, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
