The Prashansaniya Seva Vibhushanaya (kāryakṣama sēvā vibhūṣaṇaya, "Excellent Service Decoration") medal awarded to commissioned officers is a reward for long, meritorious, loyal and valuable service of proven capacity in the Sri Lanka Volunteer Naval Force, and is governed by the proclamation dated January 31, 2000. The medal shall not confer any individual precedence. It is similar to the Reserve Decoration of the Royal Navy. Recipient of the decoration will be entitled to use the post-nominal letters "PSV"
[edit] Eligibility
- Commissioned officers the Sri Lanka Volunteer Naval Force who by or after 22 May 1972 have completed 18 years qualifying service as hereinafter defined shall be eligible for the award of decoration.
- The period of service requisite to qualify for the medal shall be of 18 years efficient service.
