Prairie Ridge High School is the newest of the three high schools in Crystal Lake, Illinois, United States. The school was founded in 1997 to address the overpopulation of the three other Crystal Lake schools. In addition to Crystal Lake, Prairie Ridge also accepts students from Cary, Prairie Grove, and a small portion of McHenry. Prior to opening its doors, the first graduating class of students was allowed to vote on the name, colors, and song for the new High School. District 155 approved the name, and Prairie Ridge was born.

The Wolf Pack Marching Band performs at all home football games and competes in several local competitions. The band program at Prairie Ridge also has several ensembles including a concert band, a symphonic band, a wind ensemble and a jazz band. These bands perform concerts throughout the school year.
The Choral Department at Prairie Ridge has four choirs (men's, Beginning Treble, two sections of Advanced Treble and Acapella choir) that perform four concerts throughout the year. The Madrigal Singers is the department's vocal ensemble, consisting of musicians who go through an audition process. The Madrigals put on several madrigal dinners during the holidays and perform at community events.
The Drama department puts on three shows a school year. The fall play allows all students to be exposed to a wide range of dramatic and comedic full length plays. The winter musical allows all students to take part in the production of a Broadway musical. The musical has the most student involvement at Prairie Ridge. The spring play takes place after the musical and exposes the students to a wide range of dramatic and comedic plays.
