Pradhan Senadhipati

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pradhan Senadhipati is a supreme military rank of the Nepal military intended to be held solely by the King of Nepal. The rank outranks the Field Marshal rank of Pradhan Senapati and is considered to be a rank held by the Commander in Chief of Nepal. The rank incorporates the word Pradhan meaning "Grand", and Senadhipati, often translated as "Commander in Chief".

The closest approximation would to the rank of Pradhan Senadhipati would perhaps be the American rank of General of the Armies, the North Korean rank of Dae Wonsu or the generic rank of Grand Marshal.
