[edit] History
The band formed at the end of 2005 after the break up of Prabir Mehta's old band, The Rachel Nevadas. The Substitute's name humorously came from the ashes of this breakup. At one point Prabir stated to his old band mates something to the effect of: 'If you don't want to play, I will just have to find some substitutes.' At the time the band consisted of Prabir, Chris Smith, Adam Thompson and Adam Palamore. Shawn Lynch would soon move to Richmond, VA and join the band taking over on drums. Charlie Glenn would later be added to the band in early of 2007 playing Rhoads organ. In late 2007 Robbie King and Tyler Williams would step in as the new rhythm section.
The band is currently touring and working towards the release of their new album, "5 Little Pieces".
