So is the "æ" a ligature, or the Anglo-Saxon aesc? If the former, let's rename this article & do away with this 18th-century pretention.
BTW, there is a far more famous Praetextatus, who was a 4th century Roman, friend of Quintus Aurelius Symmachus -- & advocate for the traditional Roman paganism. So far I guess I'm the only one who has gone looking for the pagan Vettius Agorius Praetextatus & found the Christian one. -- llywrch 05:27, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
