Poyntington

Poyntington is a village in north west Dorset, England, situated in the Blackmore Vale two miles north of Sherborne. The village has a population of 135 (2001). Poyntington has a pond, named 'Daniel's pond', after the Woolley's first born who died at an unexpected age of seven. The pond was dug in remembrance of Daniel in his favorite place of play. It had become a social place to meet and a haven for families to feel the true calm of the natural environment, it has and always will be a true representation of the west country and all it means to the local inhabitants.
