[edit] Re Sharon Cuneta

I noticed that you removed the name of Sharon Cuneta from the entry of University of the Philippines people. I can understand your apprehension and I feel you may not have been updated. But Sharon Cuneta passed the screening exercises of the U.P. Open University and this was confirmed by Mario Bautista in his columns at www.journal.com.ph People's Journal. Mario Bautista's wife Dr. Victoria Bautista is the Vice Chancellor of U.P. Open University. Ms. Cuneta is actually enrolled. She is a U.P. student.

The following entry on the official website of [U.P. Diliman] says, as follows: "Sharon in school. One welcome tabloid news that came out on April 18 was Sharon Cuneta’s passing the admission exam administered by the UP Open University (UPOU) last March. She did not only qualify as a new student of the UPOU but emerged as No. 2 in her batch of around 50 working students. The following day, telephone lines at the UP Diliman Information Office were abuzzed with enquiries as to how to get the exam, the schedule of the exam, the programs that UPOU offers, etc. The Megastar, as Sharon is often referred to in show business, consequently enrolled in May in the Associate in Arts program. As the tabloid put it, “at 40, Sharon starts life as a college student, proving once and for all that it is never too late to get a college degree!” Time is yet to tell whether her enrolment will rake in more students to the UPOU. When that happens, it only proves one thing: Sharon, indeed, is a mega presence." - 7258 05:20, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Maricel1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Maricel1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Cbfdre2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cbfdre2.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- zzuuzz (talk) 17:27, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re Vilma Santos Gawad Plaridel article

Please do not include the whole citation because you are being indiscriminate in placing information and Wikipedia is not a place for that. Also, since we are on the subject of indiscriminate information, please also compress or reduce the lists of awards. I hope you've read the discussion page, if not, please go here [1]. I hope you read your own talk pages. Berserkerz Crit 18:05, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Seeing no response in either your talk page or Talk:Vilma Santos I will be removing citation.Berserkerz Crit 19:50, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

I understand your point but you should not have deleted the whole citation. That is totally depriving the public of the fact that Ms. Santos indeed deserved the prestigious award from the academe. The citation summarizes Ms. Vilma Santos' qualities as an artist, an individual, an achiever, a role model and a public servant which made her exceptional and well-respected. That is pure fact and there is no problem with that.

Finally a reply. ^^ If you would kindly look at my comment on Talk:Vilma Santos you will see the points I've raised why the citation as a whole cannot be included verbatim. Wikipedia is not a dumping ground for indiscriminate information. Please understand. If you could, reformat the whole article to follow other biographies of actresses/politicians. See Meryl Streep or Nancy Pelosi. Also please sign using four tildes. Thanks. Good morning/afternoon/midnight! =) Berserkerz Crit 17:54, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Maricel.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. bluemask (talk) 08:18, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
