Talk:Powys Fadog
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There are two conflicting geneological sources regarding the ancestry of Owain Glyndwr. One source says that his father, Gruffydd Fychan II, was the son of Madog Crypl. Other sources say that his father was Gruffydd ap Madog Fychan ap Madog Crypl. If anyone knows any more information about this please amend this page accordingly. James Frankcom

This article focuses on the descent to Owen Glendower, but he was only one of several petty lords of royal descent in the area. Furthermore, this was not "incorporated into Denbighshire", a county that did not exist until 1535. The article completely ignores the fact that there was a period of 200 years (and more in parts) when two-thirds of Wales was ruled by marcher lords, who were independent rulers under the suzerainty of the English crown.
