[edit] Criticisms section

The Criticisms section was removed for lack of sources?? Come on, just spend some time on any torrent site and you will find plenty of backup for the discussion. The PowerISO company seeds warez on torrent sites as part of their "viral marketing," no question about it. No one in the world would share an entire anime season as a DAA file, unless they were interested in promoting the format. That happens on torrent sites all the time, and there is plenty of discussion about it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.68.173.228 (talk • contribs) 16:45, 31 August 2007

Yes, because the word of some users on a less than legal site completely supersedes a reliable source. Please, use a better source than that. Shadow1 (talk) 01:04, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Those "less than legal" sites happen to be the battlefield chosen by PowerISO Computing for its gorilla marketing. In light of that, there is no better source to cite on this particular issue; after all, that's where all the action takes place. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.125.249.84 (talk) 08:56, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

I find the above arguments a bit odd. The torrents are where you go, not only to find copies of music and movies, but also to find copies of software utilities. What is being alleged is that PowerIso are marketing their paid for product, by a strategy that targets the very people who know where to get it without paying for it. 82.29.215.250 (talk) 20:34, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

I saw this on a torrent site:

WARNING TO ALL BITTORRENT USERS: Do not download torrents containing DAA or UIF. These file(s) contains viruses that will be activated when opened with PowerISO or MagicISO. These torrents are duplicates of existing torrents, re-packaged to contain a virus. If you want the clean torrent version, do another search for the title of the torrent. An existing clean one will ALWAYS be found. Torrent sites are being SPAMMED continously with torrents using these formats to spread their shit. LET'S STOP THIS NONSENSE. ** Do not use POWERISO or MAGICISO. SPREAD THE WORD. BEWARE. **

Is it true? You have to wonder.
No, it's not. Most comments on torrent sites are from idiots who don't know what they're talking about. PowerISO probably does upload their DAA files to Bittorrent, but the mounting element of the software is free forever, so I don't see a problem. They provide a few dedicated seeders, we download their free software, people who need the added functionality buy the paid version; it's a fair deal.--Theymos (talk) 07:34, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
