Powerhouse (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Powerhouse is the name of several dance music projects. The better known of these is a Chicago House collaboration between producer Lenny Fontana and vocalist Duane Harden. "What You Need," a track on which they both share production and writing credits, and which sampled Thelma Houston's "I'm Here Again," went to #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1999. The track was remixed by Full Intention.
Other dance projects under the Powerhouse name include an acid jazz project from 1975, headed by Al Newman; a one-time release by Anthony Acid (1996); a Belgian techno collaboration from 1990; a remake of "Rhythm of the Night" from 1997 by DJ Ham and DJ Poosie; a Mike Soto and Chris Colan project from 1990.
