CyberLink PowerDirector is a commercial video editing software and burning software working on Microsoft Windows aimed at the general public, which covers capture/import of video and photo files, retouching, editing, and authoring and burning on DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. The main concept of PowerDirector is easy video editing, with support for high definition formats (AVCHD, Blu-ray Discs) from beginning to end. To achieve this, PowerDirector includes auto-editing and auto-fixing tools which CyberLink calls Magic Editing Tools. Additional features make it possible to upload content created via the software to a website called DirectorZone for users of other CyberLink software to download.

[edit] Online Community
Users who create their own PiP objects and DVD menus can upload their templates to DirectorZone so that they are available for others to download and use in other CyberLink applications.
[edit] Output
Besides the different disc formats PowerDirector supports for burning, users can also choose to upload their videos on YouTube.
[edit] Sharing
In order to create their movies, people using PowerDirector can use photo and audio resources from Flickr and Freesound under creative-commons. During the creation of PiP objects or DVD menus, the software offers an option to upload the content to DirectorZone, where it can be shared and rated between peers.
