Are there any sources for the affluency stuff, esp. the 90210 show? Also, I'd like to tone down "rich professionals" as it almost seems derogative. Any comments? --Sarcasticninja 03:57, Aug 3, 2004 (UTC)

The Beverly Hills 90210 is indeed a fact. I'll look into citing it. It also appears in the Beverly Hills 90210 article here on Wikipedia. Now, your other point is probably something that should be fixed. The list itself is quiet long and difficult to read. Someone (perhaps me) should look at other affluent neighborhoods and see how Notable Residency is handled. Is this really the kind of information people would want to know? I feel like this article has been gobbled up by realtors and high school students with sloppy setance construction habits. I grew up there. I'd be interested in seeing 1) geography, 2) history, 3) economy, 4) land usage (the land usage pattern is unusal: there are a lot of mature trees for a suburban area.)

This article needs major help. It's completely unsourced, appears to be WP:OR and most of the article is a list of notable residents which is WP:Trivia. Toddstreat1 01:02, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

I concur. I went through and reformatted the article to conform a bit better with the WikiProject:Cities format, removed the redlinked "celebrities", and tagged the neighborhoods section as unencyclopedic. That whole section reads like a real estate brochure, and adds nothing to the article except fluff. It appears that most of the editing of this article is vandalism and reversion rather than actual improvements, which is rather pathetic. I just added the WikiProject Maryland template, which might get some knowledgeable editors to fix this fiasco. Horologium t-c 12:17, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Peacock Terms"

I got rid of the "peacock terms" on the Copenhaver neighborhood article. The comments on it were pretty much just promoting the neighborhood's features. I am going to clean-up all of the peacock terms in the neighborhood section soon (note the peacock notice on top of the neighborhood section).

Are we realators or Wikipedians? This advertising isn't appropriate for Wikipedia articles. Sections about neighborhoods should be brief, not a huge paragraph on how great the neighborhood's pools and tennis courts are.

UPDATE I deleted most of the neighborhood section. Should we delete the celebrity section to? I also deleted the part of the history where it explained "the night life of Potomac Towne" and how many shops were in it and how it was and when the article was explaining how the town inspired a TV show. Most of the individuals listed under this articles section on notable residents are simply not very notable among members of the general public.

I agree. There should only be "notable residents" that are known to the general public. Half of them are just a bunch of Potomac aristocrats that not many people care about.
