[edit] Image:Female_Goddess.jpg

Pleas help us with the copyright and sourcing. Thank You. Obrasocial Bancaja gave us the permission to upload this image on Wikipedia, the source is La espiritualidad del vacio Khmer sculpture exhibition catalogue, Matthias Barmann, Felice delle Piane, Obrasocial Bancaja, Valencia, Spain. Liguria (talk) 19:23, 20 May 2008 (UTC) Obrasocial Bancaja gave us the permission to upload this image on Wikipedia, the source is La espiritualidad del vacio Khmer sculpture exhibition catalogue, Matthias Barmann, Felice delle Piane, Obrasocial Bancaja, Valencia, Spain. 82.71.64.54 (talk) 19:22, 20 May 2008 (UTC) We do not know how to upload this image but it just comes from a catalogue and we have the permission to upload it on wikipedia. Liguria (talk) 18:57, 20 May 2008 (UTC) we will upload the image again with the correct source. Liguria (talk) 12:43, 20 May 2008 (UTC) No evidence to support free license of photo. • reason|this image is ok and has been permitted, we have the permission to put in on wikipedia. 82.71.64.54 (talk) 11:24, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
    • Another exact copy has been uploaded as Image:Female Goddess 2.jpg, this time under a claim the image is self made. Kelly hi! 23:44, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
      • User's upload log shows a claim that previous versions of this image were stated to have come from a Spanish art catalog. Kelly hi! 23:50, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
      • "used with permission" is listed as a reason for speedy deletion, see WP:CSD I3. It isn't good enough that the owner of the catalog gave you permission to upload for wikipedia. The owner has to release the image under the terms of a free license, and this has to be documented (either though an official, online source, or through the OTRS system). -Andrew c [talk] 20:40, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Some more info. The image depicts a piece of art that is older than 100 years, however the piece of art is not 2D, but instead 3D. Also, the photograph uses unique cropping, lighting, backdrop, and perspective. So my question to the image experts, does {{PD-art}} work in this case or not?-Andrew c [talk] 21:05, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
  • PD-art wouldn't work since the subject of the photograph is a three dimensional image; PD-art only covers photographs of other 2D works older than 100 years. {{PD-art-3d}} deals with 3D subjects, but that won't work either, since a photograph of a 3D work of art generates a new copyright. In this situation, the photo itself is a copyright of the museum, and the museum itself would have to release the image under GFDL, CC, or PD (as mentioned above). [edit] Image:Sıla gençoğlu.jpg

Pulled from host-site Imageshack, uploader has no grounds to claim GFDL, not to mention that the image appears to be part of a photoshoot of the singer. Huntster (t@c) 16:32, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Helene Whitney.JPG

Actress retired in 1940; appears to be either uploaded from a website or a screen capture of a TV screen (or a photo of a TV screen). — iridescent 00:02, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

I would sugguest to keep the image. It is fine. -20yearoldboyfromNY.

If it is a screen capture from a television or other, how do you have the right to claim ownership of the image? Also, you claim to have downloaded it...again, how can you claim ownership? Huntster (t@c) 03:42, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
