[edit] Image:Doolittle1.jpg

Dated 1945 - No indication as to death of photogrpaher thus potentialy invalid GFDL claim Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:36, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

It seems as though this is a likely case of {{PD-USGov-Military}}. IronGargoyle (talk) 21:04, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
The photographer was my father, and he died in 1992. Should I state on the image that the photographer is now deceased? Googie man (talk) 21:13, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes.. If he's a direct relation say so. BTW Did he leave you the copyright in the image? Sfan00 IMG (talk) 23:10, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
He gave the pictures to me outright, and I think it's safe to assume that the copyright is implied in that. Googie man (talk) 04:24, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
File a note with the permissions queue at OTRS and once done, feel free to remove the PUI tags on relevant images :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:22, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
No thank you, I've done enough to defend the legitimacy of this image. If anyone deletes it, or Wikipedia doesn't want it anymore, I don't really care. It's a shame though, it's an image of significant historical value. Googie man (talk) 23:22, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:JimmyDoolittleAutographed.jpg

Invlaid GFDL claim - Owning the photo isn't the same as owning the copyright in the photo or signature Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:40, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Jimmy Doolittle autographed this photo for his good friend, who was my father. I'm a long time contributor to Wikipedia, so please assume good faith. Googie man (talk) 18:24, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
It seems as though this is a likely case of {{PD-USGov-Military}}. The signature is incidental and not relevant to the copyright of the image. IronGargoyle (talk) 21:02, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Eiffel_Tower_1945.jpg

Was GFDL claim(removed) - Owning photo does not imply you own the copyright Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:42, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

This photograph was taken by my father, and I inherited it from him after his death, so I would say that does make me the copyright owner. Googie man (talk) 18:24, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
It seems as though this is a likely case of {{PD-USGov-Military}}. IronGargoyle (talk) 21:02, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:WorldSeriesRing.jpg

Invlaid GFDL-cliam - No indication original photogrpaher agreed Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:43, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

The guy who took the photo is fine with it being on Wikipedia. I don't know where else Wikipedia will get a free image of a World Series ring, so please do not take this down.
I think the issue is more likely the copyrighted design of the ring itself. The photograph of the ring has minimal creative input. IronGargoyle (talk) 21:06, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Now I understand about the copyright of the design. I disagree with you, however, about the creative input.

Excuse me - LOOK at the image - it's not even a picture of any sort - it's sketched ...now please restore it ...simply because you object to the woman's sexy pose doesn't mean you should throw untrue statements into the mix. Reality Maker —Preceding comment was added at 22:00, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Image likely from a press clipping. Author claims that the work is self-made. By looking at the metadata of all of the author's images, we can see that it is a different camera model for almost every contribution. --Edon Gojani (talk) 00:44, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
