[edit] Image:Dimaria2-1-.jpg

Marked as being public domain (work of the US Federal Government) but the source - given as http://www.ganglandnews.com/dimaria.htm - is a private page that states 'All rights reserved'. Blair - Speak to me 08:43, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Also, the logs for the image show it has been deleted several times for invalid/missing fair use rationale. If it is the same image (not just the same name) this would indicate copyright as fair use would not be claimed otherwise. Given it is the same uploader each time I would consider this highly likely. [edit] Image:ChurchOfSpritualTechnologyLogo.PNG

Cannot be GFDL, because it is a logo copyrighted by Religious Technology Center, and also cannot have derivative works. Could potentially be fair-use, but then a source for the image would be needed, not a derivative work/impression of the logo. Cirt (talk) 11:50, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

It is possible that it is too simple to be copyrighted. —Bkell (talk) 21:22, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Deleted because it has been replaced by Image:ChurchOfSpritualTechnologyLogo.svg. —Remember the dot (talk) 19:19, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Again, it is possible that it is too simple to be copyrightable. —Bkell (talk) 21:22, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Kept as fair use. —Remember the dot (talk) 19:19, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:The-veils-adrian-samson.jpg

Photo is tagged pd-self but is a promotional photo taken by professional photographer Adrian Samson ([1]). No indication that uploader is Adrian Samson or owns rights to photograph. Muchness (talk) 12:13, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Marktan originally marked this image as self-created when he uploaded it, but WhisperToMe changed the license to "fair use" with no explanation. Judging from the low resolution of the picture, it appears that WhisperToMe was correct and that Marktan is not the creator of this photo. However, we need to know for sure who took the photo. —Remember the dot (talk) 19:07, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:SteveJobsMacbookAir.JPG

Not on http://www.macrumors.com/2008/01/15/steve-jobs-with-macbook-air/ as claimed. Delete because of unclear license status, unless clarification or confirmation for cc-by-3.0 is provided. Ddxc (talk) 19:28, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Keep. I took the photo and uploaded this version also, but kept the link to MacRumors.com. I did forget that MacRumors did not publish this one, so I see the confusion. I'm unsure as to what I need to do to "prove" this, but I intend to release this as cc3.0attrib. Matt Yohe (talk) 23:49, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Okay, that's cool — no need to prove it, we generally trust people here. :-) I've removed the link to MacRumors, so it should be fine now. (Withdrawn.) -- Ddxc (talk) 00:35, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Kept. —Remember the dot (talk) 19:19, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Clearly a promotional shot, web resolution, not a self-created GFDL image. • Anakin (contribscomplaints) 23:36, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Since Kay Yong is still alive, I don't see how any sort of fair use rationale would work with this. In case there is no proof that this is a GDFL picture I will move this to IFD. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:23, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

  • I deleted it - Kay Yong is still alive and no sort of rationale will work with this. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:28, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
