- Keep. We can't ensure that the pages where the images are found are not altered forever thus deleting the each image taken from a site which was changed or simply went down. The image is obviously PD due to age. --Irpen 06:22, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think it's obviously PD - the subject of the photo died in 1944, and he appears aged in the photo. PD in Russia is life of the creator plus 70 years. Kelly hi! 16:19, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- First, when you invoke one reason for deletion (lack of source) and than switch to the peculiarities of the Russian law in the course of discussion, it does not impress well. This is too Abu badali-like to be nice. Your first rationale for deletion is just senseless. We cannot revise all images hosted at WMF every minute any old site dies, gets revised or goes off-line. Second, the provision of the Russian law you site only works when an author is known (it is not) and the image does not belong to the Soviet legal entity. Here the author is unknown, the image is from 1936 and the publication date (rather than anyone's lifetime) defines the status. A general comment, the image patroller acting with greater sensitivity tends to be much more successful in his drive for a free content. --Irpen 18:49, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
