- I've found new evidence that this file was copied. Sfacets uploaded "Kundalini rising.gif" 31 October 2005.[2] It was attributed to "Sahaja Yoga international www.sahajayoga.org" with no license or copyright info. Someone checked and found the website had a specific copyright policy forbiding use so it was deleted. The last three headings on the uploader's talk page discuss it.[3]. Sfacets responded by discussing the copyright on that site, not by saying that he'd created the image.[4][5] A Google search for "Kundalini rising.gif" brings up this page: [6] which has an image that's indentical to "Subtlesys.gif". This chain of events makes it appear that, after having had the file deleted (three times: [7][8][9]), he simply changed the name, changed the attribution, and uploaded it again. In addition, this new file in question, image:Subtlesys.gif, has been deleted once as well, after I raised questions about it previously.[10] So the image has been deleted at least four times by different admins for copyright concerns. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 08:28, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

- These images linked abouve have a very specific style and manner of showing the topic. However there are many ways of illustrating the principle, as these other images show: [22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30]
- Therefore it appears that this image was created as early as December 2002. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 23:22, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
That isn't evidence - it is a sad attempt at continuing your effort to discredit my edits. That the images are being used on various websites says nothing. If you know anything about image editing, you would know how hard it is to remove a background colour from an image without affecting image quality - it is clear that the image you refer to above is a later version. If you look at the link I provided above, you will see the stages of its creation. I discussed the image in terms of the copyright on sahajayoga.org because I didn't want to divulge that I was the creator of the image at the time. This new version is a higher resolution image than the one previously posted. Sfacets 00:45, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- This is the first time you've said that you had created the earlier version that you claimed came from another source. However this isn't the first time you've changed your story when confronted with evidence, nor the first time that you've said your previous licenses were incorrect. Why would you be embarrassed about claiming authorship of this image when you signed your real name to photographs you uploaded? How do you explain that the linked versions are identical in every detail? The same colors, the same positions of the objects, etc? ·:· Will Beback ·:· 03:04, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Did I say they weren't the same image? No. The websites are using the same image. The image created by me. I didn't change my story, the first image was taken from the website, that isn't to say it wasn't created by me. Looking at the provided images, you can see drafts leading up to the final version of the image. Your accusations are starting to appear more and more like personal attacks. Sfacets 03:59, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- So now you're saying that the image on [31] is yours, but you didn't mention that when you said they had different backgrounds. Another new story. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 04:16, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Stop your personal attacks - it is obvious you have no knowledge of image editing. Come back with some proof instead of your accusations. Sfacets 04:29, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- You've admitted claiming that a files was yours and then saying that it wasn't, and in this case you claimed it wasn't yours now you claim it is yours. Pointing out that there's a history of mistaken licenses is not an attack, any more that reporting 3RR violations is an attack. It's just a necessary part of enforcing basic WP policies and making sure that there's integrity in the process. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 05:21, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
When did I claim it wasn't mine? As usual, you are putting a spin on my words. Pointing out that there is a history of mistaken licenses is not an attack, no, but persisting after I have stated that I am the creator of the image is. Stop discrediting me - you are insulting me by implying that I am a liar. Stop it. Sfacets 05:32, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- This is the problem. You previously stated that at least one photo was your own and, when questioned, insisted on multiple occasions over a long period of time that it was your own, then admitted later that you had been wrong. So now if you insist that an image is yours, how are we supposed to know when you are correct and when you are mistaken? As I've asked before, how can we ever trust you again? How can we assume good faith in light of your prior error? -- But|seriously|folks 05:58, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
You don't stop assuming good faith in someone because of mistakes - I take it therefore that you too are calling me a liar. Sfacets 06:50, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
-
- I'm not saying that Sfacets is lying, just that he is not accurate when he makes assertions about the license of images. That is based on problems with numerous images over a period of time. If we need to review those again, I'd ask for clear explanations of the claim of creating image:Nirmala1.jpg and image:Womanconference1995.jpg, including what year those images were created. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 06:15, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I have already given an explanation for those images - here we are discussing this image. Have either of you looked at the link I provided? Sfacets 06:50, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- No, you've never properly explained those images, taken 12 years ago in one case, and possibly decades ago in the other case. You have repeatedly asserted you took them, but that still appears highly unlikely given their age. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 05:15, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
-
- Yes, but that doesn't prove anything either. -- But|seriously|folks 06:58, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I just want to make this crystal clear - unless you can provide evidence (listing links to websites using the image is not evidence) that the image was not created by me, then this image cannot be deleted. Sfacets 21:51, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
My basis for that statement is reasonable doubt - you have provided no evidence that I didn't create the image, whereas I provided early sketches of it. Sfacets 00:00, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Your assertions that you have created images are inherently unreliable, since you have done so mistakenly in the past. Your possession of early sketches doesn't prove anything, because you might have borrowed them from others as well and subsequently forgotten. -- But|seriously|folks 16:18, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
-
- The image on Sfacets' website does not appear to be an early sketch. It appears to be a scanned, completed image. I'm left wondering about the good faith of a comment in the "read me" file on that site, which says "Thanks for your IP addresses". It gives the appearance that the webmaster is intending to collect the IP addresses of those who visit the site to check the evidence Sfacet is providing. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 21:05, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
-
- Yes, a scan of a sketch. And yes, I collect ip addresses. I stick them together and hang them on my wall. Then I play darts with them. Will Beback has serious COI in regards to my edits and contributions to Wikipedia, in fact he has opposed almost every single edit that I have made on Sahaja Yoga-related articles. Good faith only goes so far and it is obvious to me that far from attempting to clarify the issue, he is attempting to find evidence to suit his POV, and subsequently harass me, attempting to discredit me as an editor and image creator. - It doesn't say anything about re-use, commercial use or derivs, so it's not sufficient. -- But|seriously|folks 03:30, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
My original request specified that it was for use on Wikipedia. Sfacets 06:55, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Ironically, and this is enough to make the sanest people break down in a shuddering heap, permission for use on Wikipedia is not sufficient to use an image on Wikipedia. You read that right. For an image to be used on Wikipedia, the permission has to explicitly permit re-use for any purpose (even commercially) and modification (a/k/a derivatives). This page explains that a bit and is really helpful for ensuring that the permission you get is not going to come up short. -- But|seriously|folks 07:23, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

- Wow... ok - I don't think I am invested in keeping the image enough to request the copyright holder give up his rights to the image, nor would I wish him to do so. Sfacets 08:08, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Can no longer locate the original photo - you will just have to assume good faith. (or just delete it - it is a bad photo anyway) Sfacets 22:55, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- Based on your erroneous claims about other photos (Image:Nirmala1.jpg, Image:PetrovskyAward.jpg, Image:Womanconference1995.jpg, and Image:Isps_gate.jpg), it doesn't make sense to assume you are correct in this instance. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 23:23, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I would appreciate it if you stopped with your attempts to discredit me. Do you just go aroud and copy+paste the above slander? Sfacets 21:39, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- You discredited yourself with your admission that the position you once insisted on was erroneous. -- But|seriously|folks 22:04, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
