[edit] Image:PrankStar.gif
Isotope23 recently asked me to review it while the picture is unsourced. Despite GFDL claim, the source of the picture is still needed. Jusjih 01:33, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Claim of a release to public domain and link to website. Website does not contain image or release to pd. — KnightLago 02:25, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

The claim permission needs further evidence. Jusjih 02:47, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:OCYC_logo.png
Need evidence of the claimed permission as the username does not automatically belong to the entity. Jusjih 02:55, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Not deleted - I'm going to be bold and retag it as non-free. I don't really question that the account belongs to that organization - I think it's reasonable to assume good faith, especially since they uploaded a large-scale version of the logo, rather than one that just anyone could find on the web. HOWEVER, I seriously doubt that anyone in a position to legally release rights to their logo would do so. --B (talk) 03:53, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Based on the way the image description has been worded, it appears to me at least that the image copyright is still held by Gruen Associates, and that it was provided for use on Wikipedia and Jonrev's personal site. Thus I do not believe it is truly in the public domain as the copyright tag states. SchuminWeb (Talk) 03:18, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- As far as I know, Gruen still has the copyright to it. I do have the email and can provide it as proof that they sent it to me for use on my site. As far as the tag goes, I wasn't sure what tag to use so I used that one. If there is another tag that better fits the photo, please switch the tags. --jonrev 23:00, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Should probably be a fair use tag. Someone should change it. If nobody does by tomorrow, I'll do it myself.Actually, wouldn't this qualify for PD-pre1978? It looks like it was published without a copyright notice (I don't see one anyway). Nobody of consequence 17:39, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Appears to be an WP:SPA submission, freely-licensed to circumvent WP:NFCC#1. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 13:33, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Claims permission to use on Wikipedia alone, yet uses {{self|GFDL-no-disclaimers|cc-by-3.0}}. - ∅ (∅), 15:32, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Cupping1c.JPG
Uploaded by the same user as above, claims {{PD-self}} yet credits brokenearth.org, nothing indicates that images on brokenearth.org are PD or that uploader created the image and brokenearth.org uses uploader's images under PD. - ∅ (∅), 15:32, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
I own the pictures in question. The fact they appear elsewhere is irrelvant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Signpostmaker (talk • contribs) 06:53, November 26, 2007

Image is watermarked by WGTE-TV, television broadcast unlikely to be {{PD-self}}. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 18:08, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

This seems to be a scan or screengrab of page 489 of Twentieth Century Impressions of Ceylon: Its History, People, Commerce By Arnold Wright. The editor claims to own the copyright. Here is a link to the Gbook site that says Published by Asian Educational Services, displayed by permission in Gbooks: http://books.google.com/books?id=eUF_rS8FEoIC&pg=PA482&lpg=PA482&dq=ae+de+silva&source=web&ots=IglHkPeYig&sig=Vm1v_6xcvJgSg---YulLYIys2yQ — Toddst1 19:24, 9 November 2007 (UTC).
