[edit] Image:SparkySeal.jpg

Tagged GFDL but summary indicates "Fair use". Which is it?  But|seriously|folks  08:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Update: Page now states image was scanned from a postcard. I removed the GFDL tag. -- But|seriously|folks  07:35, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:742 evergreen terrace.jpg

The image description says it is in the Public Domain, but it is obviously from a Simpsons episode. It is even said that the image comes from a Simpsons episode at the article 742 Evergreen Terrace. — WillMak050389 16:34, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

  • To me it looks like someone has actually used a piece of software to recreate a shot of the Simpson's house - the clarity just looks too good - I assume that would still be a derivative image and therefore subject to copyright. Good argument for fair use though on the 742 Evergreen Terrace article as it certainly isn't replaceable.

I am thinking it could be used as long as it remains in that article. MagicPath111 05:11, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Madmedea 11:39, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

I think it is only right that this image stays on the page as it matches the article. I agree with the above comment. User:Steventattum 01:53, 12 August 2007 (BST)

Yes, I believe this image (or one that is similar) could be used in the article under fair use, but the uploader of this image claimed it is of a free license. Unless this is changed (or a free license can be proven to exist for this image), this particular image should not be kept. --WillMak050389 20:13, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

It seems to need to be changed to a TV screenshot license, like other Simpsons images. Reywas92Talk 20:48, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:NSSF.png

Derivative of the above work (also therefore with unproven GFDL license). Videmus Omnia Talk 18:58, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Claimed pd-us old, which is clearly wrong. It says specifically that it's the from the Puerto Rican culture institute: the copyright on that page says ® 2003 Todos los Derechos Reservados (all rights reserved). The Evil Spartan 20:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Angel Cordero.JPG

Same as above: Puerto Rican images are not free; let alone can we be sure that the PR government is the author. The Evil Spartan 20:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Kristina Brandi.JPG

No reason whatsoever to conclude this is PD The Evil Spartan 20:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Gordon Ironside.png

Uploader indicated that the photo is released under Creative Commons, but the website that it comes from says "Site Design and Content © Sutton Grammar School 2007". Admittedly, the image was uploaded in 2006, but they do have the rights to the image, and the uploader doesn't seem to have any right to release it. Corvus cornix 20:58, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Sutton Grammar School for Boys.png

The website it comes from lists all of its content as "Site Design and Content © Sutton Grammar School 2007", no indication that the uploader had the right to release the image. Corvus cornix 21:00, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Spicegirls14.jpg

PD claimed, though appears to be a professional publicity/print media shot. Source URL given returns a 'This photo is private' message, making verification impossible. Uploader is 16 years old, yet the contents of the photo (the Spice Girls, pre-1998 when Geri Halliwell departed the band) suggest that it was taken at least nine years ago, making his claim to be the creator somewhat unlikely.
