Confusing licenses: Claims to have been released into PD by an individual, but lists company as author, then adds a fair-use claim — BillCJ (talk) 00:27, 7 December 2007 (UTC).
- According to Rotor&Wing[1] the pictures in the December 2007 issue, which the uploader references, were taken by Mr. Shannon Bower. User:Arfarf has not declared whether he/she is Mr. Bower. --Born2flie (talk) 02:09, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Actually the cover picture was provided to Rotor & Wing by Piasecki Aircraft, and was not taken by anyone named Bower, although the image as modified which appears on the cover may be copyright by some guy named Bower. Because the cover of Rotor and Wing is copyright by the company that owns Rotor and Wing, I decided to post the original source of the mag cover to eliminate any confusion and eliminate the discussion of Rotor and Wing completely. I'm definitely not Shannon Bower nor have I met him. I have met the the two guys who took all of the aerial photos of the X-49A - they are contract photogtaphers paid by Piasecki Aircraft. The photo was taken from a Piasecki-owned Cessna Skymaster. I can also get Piasecki to issue a legal document to whomever requires one to prove this photo has been released into the public domain, if you provide the name and address of the legal team that handles such matters for the public domain, I will have the letter drafted. I could post any one of several other cool pictures that I have available with company permission, but I'm getting tired of trying - do what you want. --arfarf (talk) 22:42, 8 December 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.81.7.6 (talk)
- Hi. Thank you for your contribution. To provide documentation, please have a company official send an email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. You can find a sample letter of permission at Wikipedia:COPYREQ#Declaration_of_consent_for_all_enquiries. Thank you and please feel free to leave me a note on my talk page if you have any questions. --B (talk) 15:18, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Screw you guys. You deleted the image (AGAIN) before I get the chance to get the letter drafted and approved. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arfarf (talk • contribs) 22:27, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Uploader removed PD-self while claiming it unlicensed. Jusjih (talk) 03:14, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Can be deleted. I believe it was a cropped version of a wider un-free image. Two similar free images are currently in use at Kızıl Kule.--Patrick Ѻ 16:07, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

It's very doubtful that the uploader is really the copyright holder. Fritz S. (Talk) 18:22, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Claim is PD-self, but identical to a photo I found on the web at: jepsenconsulting.com. Another editor uploaded the same image (different name) the day before this one, and when I noted its copyright status, this new user suddenly popped up and claimed they took it. If I could have db-copyvio'd this instead, please let me know; I'm pretty completely new to this image stuff. barneca (talk) 22:20, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
