[edit] Image:Orokonuimap.jpg

"Underlying map is by Terralink and is subject to copyright." If this is so, and the image is not under a free license, then we should not be using it on Wikipedia. —Remember the dot (talk) 03:04, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:BA Swallow.jpg

Image comes from http://www.britishaircraft.co.uk/aircraftpage.php?ID=731. The image description page incorrectly calls this a government website and claims it is under crown copyright. The photograph is undated, so there is no way to ascertain when it was taken and thus no particular reason to believe it is PD. B (talk) 04:19, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

The image discription page does not claim that the source is a goverment website - just that the image is: Nontheless, one of the aircraft in the background appears to be registered G-BDVB - which, according to [1] was first registered in the UK in 1976. If this is so then it is obviously later than 1957, and so not crown Copyright expired, no matter who took it.Nigel Ish (talk) 19:44, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
The copyright tag is a copyright tag for works of the British government. That's what I meant — I should have phrased it better. --B (talk) 22:01, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Mb-cal2b.jpg

Image claims to be a screenshot, but it is not. Probably a user created image using multiple copyrighted images. Collectonian (talk) 05:37, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Probably not a screenshot, but is more likely a promotional image. Proper license tag should be {{Non-free promotional}}. Suggest that this image be migrated to List of Marmalade Boy characters as it illustrates the more important characters and can be used to address the concern of excessive use of fair use images on that page. --BrokenSphereMsg me 17:05, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale & license tag updated. Strongly recommend keeping this image to migrate over to the character list as per above. --BrokenSphereMsg me 19:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
It definitely isn't a screenshot, as I've seen the series ;-) It came from http://www.animelab.com/anime.manga/pics/Marmalade_Boy/20/20 which is an anime image fan site, not an official channel. I think better evidence to prove this is actually a promotional image should be required as most promotional images would have a copyright tag somewhere on them and this does not meaning it either is not one or it was modified. Would support replacing it if the true, original image was a promotional image was found and used instead. If it is kept, per fair use it needs to be resized. Its too big. Collectonian (talk) 19:41, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
I've found the pic on a few other places (e.g. 1 and on a 2nd link Wiki says is blacklisted. That and the high quality of the illustration leads me to think that is a promo pic even though there's no copyright or TM on it somewhere. I don't know if you could even find a version that may have such branding since a lot of the other MB pics online that can also be said to have been officially put out do not. However I also found this, which is clearly a poster put out by Star Child (logo on the bottom right) that shows more of the cast. --BrokenSphereMsg me 22:16, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
True (on difficulty finding an original). Perhaps a better group image could be found. That one you linked to isn't a bad option. :) Collectonian (talk) 22:36, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
You going to help look for one? It would end this discussion faster.  ;) BrokenSphereMsg me 22:39, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
I have not found a variation of this particular pic with any sort of branding. My best guess is that it may be from a shitajiki, possibly with the TM info cropped out. It has already been resized. If it comes to it the poster can be used, but the tape that's visible on the left side and the shadowing on it bother me. BrokenSphereMsg me 07:20, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Enactment, Michal Heiman Test No 2, Quimper, 1998.JPG

A source is noted, but it is too laconic and no proof of a free license is presented. — Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 09:50, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Michal Heiman, 2007 2.jpg

No proof that the license is GFDL. Besides, it is a collage of photos that appeared in Israeli newspapers, which might be problematic, too. — Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 10:22, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Creator is named, but there is no assertion that it's GFDL. — Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 10:38, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
