Postini

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Postini is an Electronic Mail Security company, founded in 1999 and based in San Carlos, California, United States.

On July 9, 2007, Google announced that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire enterprise messaging security and compliance company Postini[1]. Google spent $625 million in cash for the acquisition.[2]

Postini is mostly used by companies who manage their own email servers; the system filters email before it reaches its destination inbox. The spam filtering provided is similar to that used by Gmail.
