Postal Orders of the Dhekelia Sovereign Base Area

British postal orders have been issued by the BFPOs in the Dhekelia Sovereign Base Area since 1960, shortly after Cyprus became an independent republic.
Currently, there are two BFPOs in the Dhekelia Sovereign Base Area. They are BFPO 58, Dhekelia and BFPO 59, Ayios Nikolaos, Dhekelia.
Postal orders issued at the post offices in the Dhekelia Sovereign Base Area are sought after by collectors. The reason for this is that the location of BFPOs are usually a closely guarded secret among the British Armed Forces for security reasons.
