Post over IP
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Post Over Internet-Protocol also called POIP or in a more basic form hybrid mail is the process of sending physical post via electronic means. This process enables automatic printing sorting and folding of a physical letter then the delivery of that letter by a 3rd party such as the Royal Mail. POIP differs slightly from hybrid mail in the fact that rather than printing centrally and using distribution mechanisms to distribute across a geographic area, POIP systems print the mail in the specific geographic areas or as close to the 'final mile' destinations as possible.
