Post Graduate Diploma in Global Business Operations (GBO) is a 2 year full time diploma programme in International Business, started by Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, in the year 1999. The diploma is awarded by the University of Delhi and is equivalent to an MBA in International Business[1].

Shri Ram College of Commerce started the GBO programme in 1999. The first batch passed out in the year 2001. The course is currently in its 9th year of operations.

[edit] Admission Procedure

The admission to the GBO programme is based on a written entrance test. The selected candidates are called for a group discussion and an interview. The forms are out by early December and the Entrance test is usually conducted in the last week of January[2].

The pattern of the written test is primarily based on the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs but also includes questions on general knowledge, economics and current business world. Each question is of four marks and there is a negative marking of one mark for every wrong answer.

The annual fees for the course is INR 30,000 (approx).

The GBO programme comprises an intuitive pedagogy that is a blend of Classroom Lectures, Case Studies, Business Games, Industry Interactions and Projects. The subjects pay emphasis on International Business, Human relations, Finance, Marketing and Foreign Trade[3].

The Faculty at Shri Ram College of Commerce is one of the best present in India and teaches in numerous institutes of repute other than GBO.

  • Highest Package: INR 9 Lakhs per Annum (CTC)
  • Average Package: INR 6.57 Lakhs per Annum (CTC)

The National Colloquium 2007 is scheduled for February 28th, 2008; to be held at 'Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi' with the theme: "Re-Inventing Indian Businesses and the Role of Corporate Leaders". The Chief Guest for the Event will be Mr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal (CEO, Hero Honda).

National Colloquium 2006 was organized on December 19th, 2006 at the 'India Habitat Centre, Delhi' with the theme: "Indian Economy: The Way Ahead". List of eminent speakers included[7]:

En masse (GBO) is the annual Management-cum-Cultural fest of GBO. The first ever fest is being organized on March 1-2, 2008. En masse involves active participation from Students of Business Schools and Active Business Practitioners alike. The event heralds the coming together of the Kautilyas and Sun Tzus from all over the country to showcase the zeal that drives the human intellect[8].
