POSC is an abbreviation for Petrotechnical Open Standards Consortium. The abbreviation is taken normally to represent an XML based protocol standard for data interchange in the oil and gas industry. This data typically includes oil and gas well geo-thermal temperature and pressure data.

POSC changed its name in 2007 to Energistics.
