[edit] Midges

I think the midges section should be deleted, it makes Portree sound like the far reaches of the Amazon. I've been to Portree many times and never had a problem with the little buggers and I certainly didn't need a net over my head. 82.37.114.89 13:11, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Port Ruigh

  1. "Some suggest" is weasel worded. Needs a citation.
  2. What does "Port Ruigh" mean (as opposed to "Port Righ", which is translated)?

"Port of the slope". This is because the king who most famously visited Portree, James IV, didn't exactly do so on friendly terms! --MacRusgail 17:22, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The map is wrong.

Portree is on the east coast.

The problem is apparently with the Template:Infobox UK place mapping system, which no-one seems to know how to fix. Ben MacDui (Talk) 16:57, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
