Portsmouth Queen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Portsmouth Queen was a vessel owned by the Gosport Ferry Company Ltd. It was built by Thornycroft of Woolston, Hampshire.

[edit] History

The vessel was built in 1966 to a similar design to Gosport Queen and the Solent Enterprise and was delivered in a green livery with a red band. Later it was repainted into the now standard Gosport Ferry colours. The vessel was withdrawn in 2005 when the Spirit of Gosport returned to ferry duties after another new vessel, the Spirit of Portsmouth, was purchased to replace the Solent Enterprise on cruise duties.
