Porto Viro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rovigo in the Italian region Veneto, located about 45 km south of Venice and about 35 km east of Rovigo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 14,449 and an area of 133.3 km².[1]
The municipality of Porto Viro contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Contarina and Donada. It borders the following municipalities: Loreo, Porto Tolle, Rosolina, Taglio di Po.
