The Portland Hospital for Women and Children, usually referred to simply as the Portland Hospital, is a hospital in Great Portland Street in the City of Westminster, Central London, England. It belongs along with several other well known private London hospitals, to HCA international, the largest private operator of health care facilities in the world. It is perhaps the best known private-only hospital in London (London's major teaching hospitals do a mixture of NHS and private work).[citation needed]
Although its fame rests largely on its role as a common place of birth for the offspring of the rich and famous, such as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie as well as children of Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown, Noel Gallagher, Katie Price, Gillian Anderson and Claudia Schiffer among others, it should also be noted that it is London's only private hospital dedicated entirely to the care of women and children, and all kinds of varies health conditions.

According to its website, since the establishing of the hospital in 1983, over 32,000 babies have been born there. In the newly refurbished maternity ward, there are 5 delivery suites and 30 en-suite bedrooms on two post-natal floors, including 21 single bedrooms, 3 double bedded rooms, 2 deluxe rooms and 4 suites. The maternity service is complemented by the full resource of a children's hospital including a special care baby unit and neonatal intensive care for babies born over 32 weeks gestation. The children's unit offers service and conduct children up to 16 years of age from diagnosis, through to surgery and aftercare.
Every baby born, or treated at the Portland Hospital can apply for membership at the exclusive Portly Panda Club.
How to get there
The 453 bendy-bus from Deptford to Marylebone stops directly outside the hospital. The closest tube station is Great Portland Street tube station, two blocks away.
