Portesham

Portesham is a village in the English county of Dorset, situated close to the south coast, between the towns of Weymouth and Dorchester. The village has a population of 708 (2001). Portesham is also in walking distance of the Jurassic Coast.

The village of Abbotsbury is nearby, as is the Hardy Monument, erected in honour of Captain Thomas Hardy, one of Lord Nelson's commanders at the Battle of Trafalgar, who lived at Portesham House.
