Porter Township is a township in Pike County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2000 census, the township population was 385.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 60.4 square miles (156.4 km²), of which, 58.6 square miles (151.7 km²) of it is land and 1.8 square miles (4.7 km²) of it (3.00%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 385 people, 168 households, and 117 families residing in the township. The population density was 6.6 people per square mile (2.5/km²). There were 926 housing units at an average density of 15.8/sq mi (6.1/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 95.84% White, 1.30% African American, 0.52% Asian, 1.30% from other races, and 1.04% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.12% of the population.

There were 168 households out of which 18.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.3% were married couples living together, 3.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.8% were non-families. 21.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.65.

In the township the population was spread out with 15.6% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 32.2% from 45 to 64, and 21.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 49 years. For every 100 females there were 103.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 109.7 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $38,125, and the median income for a family was $42,188. Males had a median income of $35,667 versus $27,143 for females. The per capita income for the township was $22,139. About 1.8% of families and 3.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.1% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
