Portel (pron. IPA: [puɾ'tɛɫ]) is a municipality in Portugal with a total area of 601.2 km² and a total population of 7,078 inhabitants.
The municipality is composed of 8 parishes, and is located in the District of Évora.
The present Mayor is Norberto António Lopes Patinho, elected by the Socialist Party.
The municipal holiday is Easter Monday.
