The Portable Cluster is a brand of mobile computer cluster, available from Nor-Tech[1], that houses rackmount computer components in a shock-mounted case.
The Portable Cluster is designed to run on standard power configurations and can operate up to 96 processor cores on two 110VAC 20-amp circuits or up to 52 processor cores on a single 20-amp circuit.
The Portable Cluster was developed to be a practical high-performance computing option for universities that need to share equipment between labs and campuses. Nor-Tech also offers a ruggedized model of the Portable Cluster which adheres to applicable United States Defense Standards such as MIL-STD-108, MIL-STD-648 and MIL-STD-810. The ruggedized model also features a breather valve to regular pressure inside the case during shipment. More information is available on the Portable Clusters website.[1]
