Portable Bookmarks is a browser-independent portable bookmark manager for Microsoft Windows. The program is the mobile edition of the popular professional bookmark manager, Link Commander, which has received acclaim from many users worldwide.
Portable Bookmarks enables you to keep your bookmarks on a portable USB flash drive and synchronize or share them between multiple computers[1].
The program offers full-featured bookmarks management with link verification, Favicon retrieval, keyword search and more. You can import existing bookmarks from a variety of browser (MS Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Netscape) as well as HTML and XBEL (XML Bookmark Exchange Language) documents. In addition Portable Bookmarks does a good job of providing duplicate sorting and parsing features to optimize the link library[2].
Portable Bookmarks allows you to specify which browser to use when launching a bookmark, and it can also handle password protected pages. The program does not directly integrate with any browsers, but offers a small drop target that you can use to add links to your portable collection.
Other features include optional password protection, collection backup, hotkey support, description and keyword download and more. Portable Bookmarks can be installed on your PC or directly to a portable drive.
Portable Bookmarks offers full support for the latest portable storage standards, including the U3 protocol used by next generation storage devices.
