Port of Melbourne Corporation

The Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) is a statutory body established by the Victorian Government on July 1, 2003 under the Port Services Act 1995 (Victoria)[1] to manage the Port of Melbourne, a port for containerised and general cargo located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
The PoMC took over the former body responsible for the management of the port, Melbourne Port Corporation, on June 30, 2003, and from November 3, 2003, the Victorian Channels Authority, responsible fot the port waters and channels.[2]
The PoMC's major current project is the Port Phillip Channel Deepening Project, a dredging project.
