Porkbelly Futures
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Porkbelly Futures is a Canadian musical group. Although originally formed as a Chicago blues band in homage to Paul Butterfield, they soon opened themselves to other influences and began creating original work in a roots/country/folk/r'n'b mode. They are unique in that many of the members have found success in other fields: singer Paul Quarrington is a writer, guitarist/harmonica player Stuart Laughton is a classical trumpet player with an international reputation. Other members include Martin Worthy (drums) and Chas Elliott (bass). The band regularly performs with vocalist Rebecca Campbell. Guitarist Teddy Leonard performs with the band on occasion, as did Richard Bell on keyboards. Their first CD, "Way Past Midnight" released by Judy Collins's Wildflower Records, spent six months on the American roots/blues charts. The band's latest disc "Porkbelly Futures" is set for release in spring, 2008.
