Description

Portrait of a Nobleman aged 36, Oil on canvas 24 3/4 x 19 5/8 inches (63 x 50 cm). The source describes this image as "said to be Robert Devereux, 3rd Earl of Essex" (January 11, 1591 – 14 September 1646), which does not coincide with the date and age of the sitter in the inscription. The source attribution to Category:William Larkin is unlikely as the form of the inscription does not match other works by Larkin.
