• The image conveys important information about the serial narrative's content and the nature of the mystery as to the identity of Claude La Badarian, which is the proper subject of the serial narrative's article.
• The portrait is the iconic image of Claude La Badarian, and not at all arbitrary. As the article itself explains, a work of fiction involving this character has been published, in the form of 12 ersatz newspaper columns, and they were illustrated with the portrait.

Likewise the image is acceptable for use in the main article William Monahan for similar reasons, as the serial narrative is discussed in the "Man of letters" section.
