Description

060927-N-0684R-009 Pacific Ocean (Sept. 27, 2006) - Explosive Ordnance Disposalman 2nd Class Gregory Van Ness uses a portable x-ray device on a suspicious package during a drill outside the post office aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Stennis and the embarked Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9) are currently conducting its Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) off the coast of Southern California.
