[edit] Characters / Citizens / Poptropicans
When players first arrive at Poptropica, they are given a character avatar they can either customize immediately, or modify while playing[2]. Once a player enters the Poptropica virtual world, they can choose an island they want to explore. Currently, there are four virtual islands on Poptropica.
[edit] User Safety
Poptropica uses safe, kid-friendly, prescripted chat[3].
Character names are also pre-constructed to prevent any profanity or personal information from entering the world.
