Poovantanthoppe

Poovantanthoppe is the former name of Swamithope. This name was because, the present day Swamithoppe was then the grove of Poovandar a land lord. He was a devottee of Ayya Vaikundar and he donated the land to the Swamithoppe Pathi. Backing with some qoutations in Akilattirattu Ammanai there is a strong belief that this poovandar was the one who warned the Kalineesan before he came to arrest Vaikundar.
