Pontevedra Club de Fútbol is a football team based in Pontevedra in the autonomous community of Galicia. Founded in 1941, the club currently plays in the Segunda División B - Group 1. Its stadium is the Estadio Municipal de Pasarón, which is planned to have a capacity of 12,500 seats when improvement works finish (the stadium is being improved because it was built more than 60 years ago and its structure was quite old). The reduction of the capacity is due to the Spanish sport laws, since they obligate football clubs to have stadiums where all the capacity could be seated.

[edit] History
Pontevedra enjoyed a golden age in the 1960s. The club was promoted to the First Division in 1963, but was relegated after one season. It returned the following year and enjoyed another five years in the top flight with 7th place in 1966 and 8th place in 1968 being high marks. Midfielder Martin Esperanza and forwards Neme and Roldan were among the stars of this era.
