The pont amont (upsteam bridge) is a bridge in Paris over the Seine built exclusively for use by automobiles traveling along the Boulevard Périphérique. If one were to follow the Seine into Paris, the Pont Amont would be the first bridge to be seen spanning the river.
The bridge links the 12th and 13th arrondissements, at the location of the Quai d'Ivry and Quai de Bercy.
At a total length of 270 m (the second longest bridge in Paris after its homologue the pont aval), the Pont Amont was inaugurated in 1969. Interestingly, the bridge does not carry an official name, the title "Amont" (French for "upstream") has been added only via unofficial use, as that of its homologue "Aval", (French for "downstream").
