Pont-Lliw

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pont-Lliw (or Pontlliw) is a village and a community in Swansea, south Wales. The community, strictly "Pontlliw and Tircoed", has its own elected community council. The village is located near the town of Pontarddulais and is off Junction 47 on the M4.

The name of the village comes from the Welsh word for bridge (pont) and the river Lliw which runs through the village.

Pontlliw has a primary school, as well as a number of small businesses such as a newsagents, post office, hair salon and pubs.

Passing motorists have to take care through the village though, as there are three sets of speed cameras in the village.

Not many people know where Pontlliw is and consistently confuse it be part of either Penllergaer or Pontarddulais - neighbouring towns.
