Ponnampatti is a panchayat town in Tiruchirappalli district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India census[1], Ponnampatti had a population of 10,659. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Ponnampatti has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 55%. In Ponnampatti, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
